We have a reputation for great village quizzes in Adderley so here’s your chance to take the experience to the next level. Shropshire Rural Community Council have just announced the Village Halls Quiz 2016/17. Details are below. If you fancy your chances and want to be a coordinator then send a note to Phil Gadd: Phil Gadd and/or Paul Nash and we will organise the necessaries.
ROAD CLOSURE – A529 Adderley to County Boundary – 25 July 2016 – 28 days (09:00 – 17:00) Carriageway Resurfacing
The works will take place during the school holidays. The work will cover the road from the Spoonley turning outside Market Drayton to the Shropshire county border outside Audlem. The work will close the road from 9:00 in the morning until 17:00 in the evening. It is intended that the work will be completed in 28 days.
People with any concerns regarding this closure should contact Kirsti Jones
Highways Works Programmer
Jenny Nixon will be dropping some bags around the village tomorrow. They are bags for school which help to raise money for the school fund. She will drive around on Thursday afternoon (around 3) and pick up any which are left outside people’s houses (will leave instructions with the bags). Alternatively people can take them directly to the school. Black bin bags are fine too.
Please support this initiative for the school if you can.
This year the village lunch took on the Queen’s 90th Birthday theme. There were flags, crowns to be decorated, a Royal Toast, patriotic singing we even had themed royal cakes. We also had exceptional food. Thanks has to go to the amazing volunteers, yet again, who make these events such a success: the organising committee, the bar staff, the volunteer caterers, not forgetting the pudding makers and Mr Phil Gadd for providing the entertainment and organising the tickets. Of course, thank you to all the good people of Adderley and their friends who supported the event.
